Since its inception, the GEM Group has expanded into various industries keeping in mind its strengths and constantly focusing on the mission and vision of the Gem Group.
With its Corporate Head Office in Calcutta, the group has authorized representations at Conoor, Siliguri, Tinsukia and Jorhat in India and its overseas representations include Nairobi, Addis Ababa, Dacca and Colombo. The GEM Group produces the entire range of Tea Processing Machinery from plucking to packing. The group commands a global market share in this industry and has regularly supplied such equipments to all tea growing countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Australia, Bangladesh, etc.
The GEM Group is a government recognized Export House and has received several awards throughout its existence, most notably the Gold Medal Award by Transworld Fair, Udyog Ratan Award for Best Performance and The Certificate of Export Excellence presented to us by the Engineering and Export Promotion Council, India in the year 1999.
The latest innovation at the GEM Group has been the development of the know-how for the manufacture of Desiccated Coconut. The Coconut Development Board under the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, recognizes GEM as manufacturers of processing equipment for the coconut industry. Apart from attaining local recognition, the GEM Group has also been recognized by various international organizations such as the Coconut Development Authority, Sri Lanka and The Philippine Coconut Authority, Philippines. The Group has recently set-up turnkey projects in VietNam and Thailand for the manufacture of Desiccated Coconut.
Besides its manufacturing activities, the GEM Group is currently expanding into trading services providing India and its people with a taste of international culture while spreading the excitement and passion of Indian goods elsewhere.
