EPDM rubber coolent hoses have achieved a remarkable position in the international market through innovation, R&D and reformation of the existing products. In line with the major automotive requirement for reduced energy consumption's of cars, automotive bodies engines are becoming increasingly compact to minimize air resistance. Further automotive engines are designed to operate at high temperature in order to increase fuel efficiency. These two factors lead to a steady and continuous increase of the temperature under the hood. Similarly the operational temperature of the cooling elements in these cars have increased.


Temperature occurring under the hood in the area of the radiator hose are commonly 110 degree celsius - 125 degree celsius, with peak temp as high as 140 degree celsius . The temperature of the cooling liquid of the operating car ranges between 90 degree celsius - 110 degree celsius. EDPM synthetic rubber has established itself as the most preferred elastomer for radiator coolant hoses for automotive cars. It combines good temperature and ozone resistance with sufficient oil and chemical resistance for this application. EPDM coolant hoses if properly designed and manufactured , performs well over the whole lifetime of a car 10yrs or 2, 00, 000 Kms.
